Dark Vengeance

The heartbeat of Night is beating loud and strong in my ears. The winds whistle and playfully pull leaves off the trees. I would laugh at the merriment, except darkness has enveloped me in the worst possible way. There is a man, petty and mean, who has done some pretty awful things to me. I have always turned the other cheek. But tonight, as I sit in the dying garden with Night's cloak spread out around me, I feel the need for vengeance coursing pure and cold through my veins, a dark fire that empowers and terrifies me. I have shamed him so badly he can no longer show his face at family functions. I have fought with him hand-to-hand and emerged victorious. Bruised and battered, but victorious. I have channeled every attack he's made on me back onto himself. And still he tries to push me, to see how far he can go before I snap and the two titans will struggle for domination once more, sending the kiddies scurrying for cover. I have slowly squeezed his resources dry, until he is a desperate man. And still he tries. I have alienated him from the people he once would have turned to, and still he tries. I have fought with every fiber in my being, and fought on pure adrenaline, and pounded him so hard a masochist would have begged for mercy. And still he tries. Someday, he will realise the futility of fighting against a superior being, but for now, I will still have painful lessons to teach him. School of hard knocks is in session, and I will take great delight in punishing this miserable excuse for a man, exact vengeance for all the times when I was a convenient punching bag. He has incurred my wrath once more, and this time I hold nothing back. This is an all out assault to destroy whatever's left of him. I launch my campaign of vengeance tomorrow, with meticulous attention to detail. He will be punished.
Alecto, Tisiphone, Magaera, the three Furies of Vengeance, awaken and take heed.

Dark Fall

Save me. Help me. Trust me. Heal me. Hold me. Love me.
I am on the verge of giving up. I'm not good enough.

Dark Despair

The rabid dogs of war have begun to howl, and the battledrum beats in my ears. Save me, before I condemn myself to a Hell of my own making. Give me faith that I am worthy of being loved, even with my shadowed past. Help me, even as you mock my clumsy attempts to help myself. Some days, I miss the feel of a cool blade running across my flesh. And I wonder...what if my hand slips? As I bleed myself dry in a dark cave surrounded by people who tell me I'm worthless and that I deserved to be raped...I wonder what will happen. Wondering wanderer. I have wandered too far afield in life. I have lost all hope. I pray the spark will be ignited before I sink even lower. I pray, I dream, I wish, I hope...but it all comes to naught. Come shadows, come demons. I have fallen.
Take me, and in sweet surrender I hope to find salvation in oblivion.

Psychic Surge

I am here in Hougang for perhaps the last night. This place is no longer home. That security was wrested from me too long ago, and now I'm spreading my wings and finding my way in the world. I've said my goodbyes, and it is time to start focusing on what I should be doing. I have a job that I love now, and a temporary roof over my head. It's time to fly, Faiz. I've gone through hell over the past 22 years of life, endured toxic shit most people don't even know exist on God's green Earth. I've seen the face of evil up close and personal, I've punched that face square in the jaw and survived to fight another day. I have lived my life believing that the pure and just will be sheltered by God's love, and tonight, as my wings flare wide open under the dome of Night, I thank each and everyone of my friends for having supported me thus far. I will prove, if not to that bastard, to you, to myself, that I am worthy of living here under the stars, wherever I may call home. I have fought tooth and nail to get to where I am, I have stumbled more times than I can count, I have struggled to make sense of this world in all its imperfect beauty, and now I will stand on my own. I have no family, I am an orphan adopted from the streets, and the streets have been my home for far too long. Those days are over, and now the fires will cleanse me and reforge me a stronger character, one strong enough to stand tall and proud before the light of God. I love you all, for tiding me through the bad times and holding my hands when I was battered and broken. I am whole now, and the world is mine for the taking. A whisper on the wind reaches me, the front door wide open in anticipation of my flight. Voles-tu, mon petit papillon. I will, Gabriel. Thanks, Michael. Love you, Dumpling. Wherever I make my home, my heart is yours, and my brothers have my soul. Here's to a better future, and to security in that future.
I am worthy of your love and acquaintance.

Dark Tendrils

I am in the unshakable grip of a familiar sadness. Night, that familiar mother of Darkness, cools my fevered skin with her storm winds as lightning flashes in the patch of sky I know as well as my own name. How it used to frighten me, in the days when I first came to live here, that bare unfamiliar bit of Heaven. The slightest rumble of thunder would set my heart racing in fright. My time here grows short, and I know it is time once more to unfurl my wings and take flight. Away from here, where the shadows are alien and unfriendly. That little bit of sky I can see has become my anchor, one of the many reasons why I sit in the garden swing and smoke, but it is time to set sail and leave this place. Depression dances on the fringes of my mind as I dance a slow tango with the darkness here. As much as I hate it, as much as I would prefer to live wild away from the conveniences of modern civilisation, I know deep in my heart I belong at Bedok Reservoir, where my soul is etched into every nook and cranny. Ah, Bedok...a castle full of empty halls and memories, all equally worthless to me now. And yet, I yearn once more to awaken at sunset and roam the dark streets that were mine for too long. Far, far too long for this flightless bird to remain caged. I've exchanged one cage for another, and now I want to go home. Not to my fathers, but to the only place I've ever called home. I don't belong here, as much as I try my best. I am unhappy, terribly so, and it is only on nights like these when I can admit it freely to my constant lunar companion and her attending stars. It does no good to sit here and type, not when Night beckons me so bewitchingly, and the everpresent stars twinkle merrily down at me from above, the eyes of a thousand angels, watching over the lost cause that is humanity. Drown then, drown your sorrows, my friends, drink and be happy, for we have condemned ourselves and all those around us. But we're going down happy. The winds sing in approval, and the sounds of Night here will never be forgotten. But I cannot allow the tendrils here to wrap themselves around my self and choke my soul. I am neither happy nor comfortable here, and I want to go home. To Bedok, where I discovered the true meaning of living, the compassion that sets humans apart from animals, where I found true joy in life. If that castle has closed itself off to me, then I'm setting off to live where Nature will shield my eyes from the atrocities of this world, where the winds will dance around me and where I will be free to find myself.

Dark Door

Close the door.
Car c'est en donnant qu'on reçoit, c'est en s'oubliant qu'on trouve, c'est en pardonnant qu'on est pardonné, c'est en mourant qu'on ressuscite à l'éternelle vie

Dark Powers

There is power in darkness. I have tasted it, bathed in its insane depths, and still when the skies darken and Heaven weeps, I find myself wanting light. It was just a spark, and now the floodgates have been flung wide open and the rumbling of distant thunder sounds like Michael's disapproval. I am spiraling down into insanity, my grip slackening on the reins. I am reaching the state of madness where killing becomes sport. As the darkness settles over the land, a mockery of true Night, I feel a gentle nudge in my heart telling me to fight it, fight the void from consuming my humanity, transforming me into a heartless killer with no conscience. The rain is dying out, and I don't know whether to be grateful or annoyed. There are things I cannot change, deaths I cannot undo, some caused by my wrathful hand, others accidents I couldn't prevent. But this descent into true darkness is something I can prevent, if only I had the strength of will and enough resources. Sadly, I begin to think I am lacking in both. My shadows are my links to a time long gone, a time when the divine held sway over the hearts of men, when money was of lesser consequence than gaining God's love. Perhaps I truly am condemned, and I just haven't realised it. I have lost many friends in my life, lovers, family even. My brothers' guarded distance sends icy splinters through my frail, beating heart. And every loss sends me even further into the cold embrace of shadow, brings me one step closer to Lucifer. Yet with every day that passes, the laughter and love from my friends ignites a tiny spark of hope in my bruised heart. I stand at a crossroads, old man. I do not fear death, for it is not a period, but the closing of a chapter and the beginning of another. But my heart is here, and it is here that I will fight to stay, darkened or not. Whether I stay as a killer or a healer, the rest is up to God. Jeremy was right to slam the lid on me. I terrified him, forced his hand and I lived 2 years without emotion. I frighten people. Some refuse to believe the truth of their senses, others are scared when the extraordinary happens around me. The rain has stopped, and the heat of noon is beginning to rise, my temper along with it. I don't know what I'll do with myself. I need someone close, to pull me away from the land of demented shadows and into the light. Gabriel, I don't know what to say to you, except...don't give up on me. Someday I'll fly free, and I'll be home with you.
