Dark Fire

Time will soothe me, dull the raw edge of my anger that causes my throat to seal up. A reflex action, to prevent me from hurling out poisoned barbs. Night will cup me in her palm, and her children will whisper comfortingly to me, as the winds howl and race around the trees. Nature shall calm me, with her eternal grace and beauty, her cloak resplendent in a thousand colours. I shall scream, for the injustice of it all, for having seen dead people rise in my dreams. I shall rage away alone amongst the suddenly silent trees, while these powerful entities listen gravely to my mortal problems. I shall allow the dark fires to consume me, just for tonight. I will let the barriers down and yell at the world for causing its own problems, at people for their ability to hurt one another, sometimes without even knowing it. I shall rant and rave, and at the end of it, I will have to decide: Is it worth it to walk through life alone?
I walk with the hot winds of the desert, blistering and vengeful. Until Night decides to cool its fever, it is best to leave the wounded coyote alone.

Psychic Hope

The wind blows strongly, a whisper from all the ancient spirits. The darkness that cloaks me is a friend. This is Night as I remember her, the warm Mother with her precious Moon-Jewel and her many diamond stars. Tonight I surrendered myself to the comfort of an old friend, one who has always protected her children. When I was lost and homeless, the cats that came to me were a gift from her. To watch over me, as I walked the streets alone, a young teenager with a heart as hard as stone. That frost around me melted as the cats pawed gently at my jeans, climbing into my lap to keep me company on those long lonely nights. I have never really told anyone about those nights. Once more I am adrift, alone and frightened. And Night has heard the call of my heart, and found me as pure as I was on the streets at fourteen. People do terrible things to survive on the streets. Terrible, but necessary. I cannot push away the fear that I will one day be homeless again, and be forced to my old ways. The Night will always be a friend, a Mother to all her children, and she will watch over those who need guidance. Am I destined to walk through this world alone? My stone heart has thawed, cracked slightly, but still these tears that flow down my cheeks are bitter. She has comforted me once more, offered me a sanctuary that few ever know even exists. I am grateful, but I cannot keep hiding under her veil from the Sun. Her children are whispering again tonight. Soft murmurs from a time long gone, for a boy long lost. She is strong, as all Mothers are, and she will defend her own. But these are different times we live in now, and she cannot protect me from myself. Even though I know now deep in my heart that I am pure, the loneliness is tearing at my heart. I pray that morning will not bring with it new evils. Beneath the laughter, we all have terrible secrets and fears. Night has soothed my fears for now, and I will sleep deeply under her watchful eye. When the Sun rises, forcing the Moon to vanish, then I will rise once more to fight with my Mother's gift of strength. There are people that I have hurt, inadvertently, but the morning will see me do my best to heal these old wounds. I am a child of darkness, a child of Night herself. And I will do what is right, with the guidance of my old friends and protectors.
Take this sinking boat and point it home.

Dark Changeling

It's time to change. I need some time off to clear my head, and think about who I really am these days. I have been a shadow for far too long. My friends have banded together to make me quit smoking, even though I have adamantly stated that I will only cut down, not quit entirely. Change. What a scary word. I no longer fear the darkness that chokes out all the light from my house. I have less than a month left, before I embark on a new direction in life. I'll wait and see what will happen next, after I make this change.

Dark Prince

I will always be alone, with only my demons to keep me company. The waters were black, liquid obsidian, a reminder of my dark throne and heritage. I have given up. I will slip beneath the surface of this ocean, a shadow that will never be missed. I have my piano, my mind that will keep me occupied, and my thirst for knowledge that will never be sated. I will withdraw into myself, and examine what it is that makes me so different, a difference that damns me.
Am I intelligent after all? Or merely delusional?

Dark Reins

Stay the horses. The pull is immense, but I fight it desperately. Night's soft wings have enveloped the land, and her velvet feathers are illuminated by the full moon. I believe sleep is a lost cause tonight without my sleeping pills which I refuse to take. I feel the strong urge to roam the grounds with only my cigarettes, my shadows and my music. It is dangerous territory, especially now that I have inadvertently angered several more demons. Still, I find myself largely unafraid. The reason why I'm still here typing is that true night has yet to begin. I have reined my horses in for now, and I must continue to do the same. My fiery threads must not touch anyone else, because the whispers have begun once more and the murder of crows have begun to wing their way towards me. I do what I can, but I refuse to ask for divine assistance...even as the shadowy tendrils curl themselves around my throat. I have always been aloof, and it is time to distance myself from the constructs of this reality and reaffirm my position as King. Glenn, you know what? It's fine. Leave me without saying a word. Someone put a point to my heart today and it made me see the truth of what we're doing to each other, for all the wrong reasons in the world. So go, fly away, while I work to rebuild the kingdom I've long neglected. When you return, I will no longer be the little boy that needs your protection or your wings to shield me.
So the beast resides in me, deep down I always knew.

Psychic Feelers

Some have already contemplated my imminent departure, and expressed regret. Again, as an INTP, I am surprised at how people value me. For unusual reasons, sure, but valid all the same. Still, my inner fire is dimming, down to embers. I must rest tonight. I've been getting fractured sleep lately, and tonight's the night where I surrender completely, just go deep into sleep, nightmares and all.
As I stood in the last pew, listening to the chiming of the bells and contemplating the passing of a life, I wondered if he knew that I was there for him. No other reason. He was standing in front of the coffin, the composure an illusion every man employs to dispel the notion of weakness. I searched his face discreetly, a shadow that blended in with the stone wall around us. His composure finally cracked, his control slipping a little, and I knew something inside him had broken forever. I shadowed the family into the viewing gallery, and closed my eyes as the sobbing broke out and washed over me, a wave of grief that I could not soothe. My eyes were on him throughout the ceremony, watching him carefully, racking my brains for something that would help to ease the pain I sensed emanating from him. I got an involuntary case of the shivers as the funereal bells tolled, but I drew comfort in the knowledge that KC was as affected by mortality as I am. He came over to thank me for coming, and I shrugged nonchalantly. I gave him my trademark lopsided grin, ignoring the fact that his eyes were red-rimmed. Now here I am, in my room, hoping good thoughts have enough impact to positively affect the people I've come to care about. I'm surprised at my own capability to empathize, but really, I shouldn't be anymore should I? I've really grown. *sighs* I'm going to watch I Think I Do before curling up in my corner to hibernate until tomorrow morning. I know the reason why I'm so down. He's flying off tonight. Wanna know what his MSN nick says? *grimaces* "Tonight is the night, bye my friend, I'll miss you. =(" *howls*
I feel, therefore I am a feeler! :P

Dark Bloodust

Pain. I have spoken of it many times before, but this time, the expression that it's tearing me up from the inside is quite literal. I was literally rolling around in agony, wishing I could rip out the stitches that hold my wounded flesh together while my cats watched me curiously. I'm gritting my teeth furiously while I type, wishing I have a chewtoy or something. Just anything to take the edge off! My one consolation is that I'm determined to go through this healing without the aid of pills, and I have managed for the past few days without any painkillers. My temper, famously short in the first place, has grown even shorter, and that is precisely why I have retreated to this wooded villa where I am free to smoke and think and curse life. My dad, dark angel that he is, has miraculously left me to my own devices while he tracks down his target. I have no interest in Lucifer's plans, and this is something Asmodeus will not reveal to me. I don't give a damn. I have collected some old memories that lie buried in the earth around here, and I plan on bringing them back with me. I'll be leaving soon, my protections have dulled and will likely collapse by tomorrow. I had a restless night yesterday, and I cannot hold out for much longer here, even though this place is beautiful at sunrise. My threads hold fast, and I know that they grow firmer by the day. I must fly home quickly, by noon tomorrow I will be gone from this dark castle where my father holds court. I have barely spoken to him, was quite surprised that he picked me up from the plaza in his shiny new car. Still, there is no warmth here, and that disturbs me. I should expect no less from the home of a fallen angel, right? I know why I'm hesitating to end this post. Firstly, writing distracts me from the bonecrushing pain radiating through my mortal form, and secondly...sigh. Glenn's online. ZJ has gone off on another one of his irrational tangents again, blaming me for the stress between him and Dan. GOD.DAMN.IT. This pain is overwhelming! Can you believe I've only smoked 2 sticks for the past 5 days? Jeebus Cries. I'm in pain, and somehow talking to Glenn is helping. Ah, fuck it. We cannot discover new oceans unless we have the courage to lose sight of the shore. Got that crappy sentimental saying from my superior's cubicle. RAPHAEL! Where are you...
